TRM Equity Acquires Wellman Dynamics

TRM Equity II, a Michigan-based private equity firm, has acquired all equity of WDC Acquisition LLC, doing business as Wellman Dynamics, a Creston, Iowa-based aerospace foundry that manufactures large, complex magnesium and aluminum castings for defense and commercial aerospace customers. The transaction closed July 29, 2022; Wellman employs approximately 350 people and has operated in Creston since 1965.

Trillium’s founders and employees remain material shareholders and will continue to lead the company as JFLCO supports the firm’s technical and commercial expansion into defense and international UAS markets.

J.F. Lehman & Company Acquires Forged Solutions Group

Lehman & Company, through investment affiliates including JFL Equity Investors VI, L.P., acquired Forged Solutions Group (FSG), a provider of high specification forgings for aerospace, defense, and space end markets. The deal expands J.F. Lehman’s position in technically demanding, capacity-constrained aerospace and defense supply chain segments. Arlington Capital Partners sold FSG following a six-year transformation that included capacity and capability buildout.

Comvest Partners (Comvest Credit Opportunities) sold its stake in Atomic; Atomic founders and management rolled equity and will continue to lead the business as JFLCO supports growth initiatives across the company's 30 terminals in 19 states.

The combined platform provides closed-loop refrigerant and methane lifecycle management and related collection, processing, reclamation, and destruction services, and aims to serve as a foundation for further acquisitive growth.
