HouseWorks, backed by InTandem Capital Partners, has acquired Associated Home Care—the Personal Care division of Amedisys—to expand its personal/in-home care footprint in the Northeast. HouseWorks will partner with eCaring and join the Amedisys personal care network to coordinate care across the combined footprints; Amedisys divested the unit to focus on its core home health, hospice and high-acuity businesses.

Amedisys Acquires Contessa Health

Amedisys, Inc. has agreed to acquire Contessa Health, a Nashville-based provider of hospital-at-home and SNF-at-home services, for approximately $250 million. Contessa will operate as a wholly owned division of Amedisys and its CareConvergence informatics platform will be integrated to expand Amedisys' higher-acuity, tech-enabled home-based care capabilities and increase its in-home care TAM.

Help at Home, a Chicago-based national in-home personal care provider backed by The Vistria Group and Centerbridge Partners, acquired three Georgia-based home care providers — Care By Your Side, One Care Health and AAMedcare — to expand its footprint in the Atlanta and Augusta markets. The transactions broaden Help at Home’s Home-and-Community-Based Services (HCBS) presence across southern and central Georgia and support its strategy of scaling local providers to serve more Medicaid and private-pay clients.

Optum Offers to Combine With Amedisys

The deal expands PurposeCare's Midwest footprint and adds roughly 400 patients and more than 300 caregivers to its platform as it consolidates several regional agencies under one brand.

Humana Acquires onehome

Humana Inc. has signed a definitive agreement to acquire onehome (One Homecare Solutions) from WayPoint Capital Partners, accelerating Humana's development of a value-based home health offering and complementing its Kindred at Home integration. onehome, headquartered in Miramar, Florida, provides home-based services including home health, infusion, and DME and has experience with risk-based contracting in Florida and Texas; financial terms were not disclosed.
