Cornerstone Building Brands, a leading North American manufacturer of exterior building products, has acquired Metal Sales Manufacturing Corporation, a Sellersburg, Indiana–based manufacturer of metal building systems and components. The acquisition (Metal Sales: ~900 employees) expands Cornerstone's footprint to more than 100 plants and distribution locations and increases its participation in the high-growth residential metal building and components market.

Clayton, Dubilier & Rice (CD&R) has completed its acquisition of Cornerstone Building Brands, the largest manufacturer of exterior building products in North America, in an all-cash transaction with an enterprise value of approximately $5.8 billion including assumed debt. Cornerstone, headquartered in Cary, North Carolina and employing more than 20,000 people, will become a privately held company under CD&R to pursue operational improvements and accelerated growth.

Sur-Seal Acquires Mueller

Sur-Seal, a Heartwood Partners–backed engineered sealing solutions company headquartered in Cincinnati, acquired Mueller, a North Carolina-based provider of custom die cutting, slitting, laminating and CNC cutting operating out of a 141,000 sq. ft. facility. The acquisition expands Sur-Seal's engineering, converting and manufacturing capabilities and adds end-market exposure in HVAC, aerospace, medical, renewable energy and electronics while preserving Mueller's employee-centric culture under the Stober family ownership transition.

Cornerstone Building Brands Acquires Harvey Building Products from Dunes Point Capital

Cornerstone Building Brands has agreed to acquire Harvey Building Products, a Waltham, Massachusetts-based manufacturer of windows and doors, from Dunes Point Capital. The acquisition adds Harvey's Harvey, SoftLite and Thermo-Tech brands, roughly 1,200 employees and four manufacturing facilities across the Northeast and Midwest, increasing Cornerstone's exposure to the Repair & Remodel (R&R) end market and strengthening its distribution and dealer channels.
