WestPoint Home Acquires Vision Support Services (VSS)

WestPoint Home, a division of Icahn Enterprises, has acquired Blackburn-based Vision Support Services (VSS), a producer of bedding, bath and table linens for the hospitality, spa and healthcare sectors. The deal gives WestPoint expanded reach in Europe and bolsters its hospitality offerings in North America; VSS chairman Dan Wright will step down and managing director Laurie Thomas will continue to lead the business.

The Vistria Group Completes Majority Recapitalization of Education Solutions Services (ESS)

The Vistria Group has acquired a majority stake in Education Solutions Services (ESS), a Knoxville-based K-12 staffing and virtual instruction provider; Nautic Partners sold the majority interest but will remain a minority investor. Comvest Credit Partners acted as administrative agent on a senior secured credit facility to support the transaction. ESS serves roughly 900 school districts (over 4 million students) and will use the new partnership to accelerate growth and expand its virtual and managed staffing capabilities.
