DePuy Synthes, the orthopaedics business of Johnson & Johnson, has acquired CrossRoads Extremity Systems, a Memphis-based designer and manufacturer of procedure-specific implants and instruments for foot and ankle surgery. The seller was HealthpointCapital (with long-time investor MB Venture Partners involved); HealthpointCapital had acquired a majority stake in CrossRoads in May 2019 and executed product and commercial expansion before the sale.

Stryker Corporation Acquires TMJ Solutions (TMJ Concepts)

Stryker Corporation has acquired TMJ Solutions, Inc., which does business as TMJ Concepts, a leader in patient‑fitted temporomandibular joint (TMJ) prostheses. Farlie Turner Gilbert advised TMJ Solutions on the sale; terms were not disclosed. The acquisition adds TMJ Concepts’ custom TMJ implant design, manufacturing and global distribution capabilities to Stryker’s craniomaxillofacial portfolio.

Stryker Acquires Vertos Medical Inc.

Stryker has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Vertos Medical Inc., a privately held company that develops the minimally invasive Mild® procedure for treating lumbar spinal stenosis. The acquisition expands Stryker’s interventional pain management and minimally invasive treatment portfolio and extends its reach into ambulatory surgery centers; the transaction remains subject to customary closing conditions.

HealthpointCapital-backed CrossRoads Acquires Surgical Frontiers' Implant Systems

HealthpointCapital’s Fund IV portfolio company, CrossRoads Extremity Systems, completed an add-on acquisition of multiple FDA-cleared implant and soft-tissue repair technology assets from Surgical Frontiers LLC, including the KATOR, OsteoPrecise, SpeedButton and Metrics product families. The purchase, which includes issued and pending U.S. patents, strengthens CrossRoads’ extremities product portfolio and supports cross-selling and capability expansion as part of HealthpointCapital’s strategy to build a market-leading orthopedic extremities platform.

OrthoPediatrics Corp. Acquires Boston Orthotics & Prosthetics

(Nasdaq: KIDS) acquired Boston Orthotics & Prosthetics, a pediatric orthotic management company with 26 clinics and approximately $25 million in annual revenue, for $22 million in cash. The deal expands OrthoPediatrics' Specialty Bracing division and was supported by a new $80 million credit facility with MidCap Financial.

Stryker Acquires Cerus Endovascular

Stryker has completed the acquisition of Cerus Endovascular Ltd., a privately held, commercial-stage medical device company that developed the Contour Neurovascular System and Neqstent devices for treatment of intracranial aneurysms. The deal expands Stryker’s Neurovascular portfolio and strengthens its aneurysm/hemorrhagic treatment capabilities globally (reported purchase price approximately $530 million).
