Hotel Equities and Springboard Hospitality announced a strategic merger effective May 1 to create a scaled, owner-focused hotel management company operating across the United States, Canada, the Caribbean, and Latin America. Ben Rafter (formerly CEO of Springboard) will serve as CEO of the combined company and Brad Rahinsky (former Hotel Equities CEO) will serve as chairman, with the combined firm leveraging complementary strengths in branded and independent/lifestyle hotel management.

One Equity Partners Acquires Associated Spring

One Equity Partners (OEP) completed the acquisition of engineered-spring and precision components manufacturer Associated Spring from Barnes Group Inc. Associated Spring, founded in Bristol, Connecticut, operates six production facilities across the Americas, Europe and Asia and employs over 800 people; OEP intends to grow the business organically and via transformational add-on acquisitions to expand in aerospace, medical and automotive end markets.

Scaleworks, a San Antonio-based venture equity firm, has acquired SearchSpring, an 11-year-old provider of AI/ML-powered e-commerce site search and merchandising solutions. SearchSpring founder and CEO Gareth Dismore will depart and Scaleworks has named retail-technology veteran Peter Messana as CEO to accelerate product and go-to-market expansion for SMB and direct-to-consumer retailers.
