Polytek Development Corp., a portfolio company of Arsenal Capital Partners, acquired Specialty Resin & Chemical, a Dowagiac, Michigan–based supplier of mold making, casting, and coating resins. Daniel Wilson, the owner of Specialty Resin & Chemical, will remain in an active role; Genesis Capital served as financial advisor to Polytek.

Pacific Avenue Forms Resin Solutions to Acquire Three Product Lines from TotalEnergies' Cray Valley

Pacific Avenue Capital Partners has formed Resin Solutions LLC to acquire the Poly bd, Wingtack, and Dymalink product lines from TotalEnergies' Cray Valley in a corporate carve-out. The deal includes four U.S. production sites, one site in Italy, global customer relationships, and establishes Resin Solutions (headquartered in Exton, Pennsylvania) as a standalone specialty functional additives platform under Pacific Avenue Fund I, L.P.; Joan Braca and Anthony Glauser were named CEO and CFO.

Sinochem International (Overseas) Pte. Ltd. Acquires ELIX Polymers from Sun European Partners

Sinochem International (Overseas) Pte. Ltd. has acquired ELIX Polymers, a leading European manufacturer of ABS resins, from an affiliate of Sun European Partners for an enterprise value of €195 million. ELIX — headquartered in Tarragona, Spain — was owned by Sun European Partners since 2012, during which time the PE owner improved operations and materially increased EBITDA prior to the sale.

Siparex ETI Acquires Majority Stake in Sintex NP (European Subsidiary of Sintex Group)

Siparex ETI, with co-investors Carvest, BNP Paribas Développement, AfricInvest and Desjardins Capital, signed an agreement to acquire a majority stake in Sintex NP, the European arm of India's Sintex Group. Sintex NP is a leading European processor of polymers, composites and precision metal engineering with ~2,800 employees and €275m in sales (2018); the investment will support accelerated growth via acquisitions and international expansion, particularly into North America.

H.I.G. Capital Affiliate Acquires Covestro's European Polyurethane Systems Business (Plixxent)

An affiliate of H.I.G. Capital has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Covestro AG's European Polyurethane Systems business in a carve-out transaction, with closing expected in the second half of 2019 pending regulatory clearance. The business — operating four systems houses across Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands and Spain and employing ~250 people with ~€230m sales — will be run independently (to operate as Plixxent) and used as a platform for pan‑European expansion and add-on acquisitions.

Prefere Resins Acquires Evos' Paraformaldehyde & Hexamethylenetetramine Supply and Customer Base

Prefere Resins Holding GmbH will take over the supply and marketing of paraformaldehyde and hexamethylenetetramine from Evos' facility in Mainz, Germany, including Evos' existing customer base for those products. The transaction is a divestiture by Evos to allow it to focus on its core liquid energy and chemical storage activities while Prefere Resins expands its paraform business and customer coverage in Europe.
