Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., through its specialist underwriting subsidiary Pen Underwriting, acquired UK-based Tay River Holdings Ltd and its specialist managing general agent (MGA) companies. The acquisition brings marine specialty underwriting capabilities (marine liability, ports & terminals, marine war risks and kidnap & ransom) into Pen; Paul Hartley will continue to lead the Tay team.
