Financing was provided by Comerica Bank and Akin Gump served as legal counsel to the buyer.

GFL Environmental has acquired Capital Waste Services (CWS), a Columbia, South Carolina-based regional waste hauler and Kinderhook Industries portfolio company. The tuck-in deal expands GFL’s Waste Industries footprint across the Southeast (Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee), adding landfills, transfer stations and over 200 collection vehicles to accelerate organic growth and margin expansion.

Casella Waste Systems Acquires Select Solid Waste Operations from GFL Environmental for $525M

Casella Waste Systems agreed to acquire collection, transfer and recycling operations in Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland from GFL Environmental Inc. for $525 million. The assets include nine hauling operations, one transfer station and one material recovery facility with approximately $185 million of annualized revenues (and an expected ~$43 million of EBITDA), and the deal is intended to expand Casella's Mid‑Atlantic footprint and provide a platform for future growth; closing was expected by Q3 2023 subject to customary conditions.

Capital Waste Services (Kinderhook) Acquires Sandlands C&D Landfill of SC

Capital Waste Services, a portfolio company of Kinderhook Industries, has acquired Sandlands C&D Landfill of SC, a Class II construction & demolition landfill and roll-off hauling business based in Gresham, South Carolina. The acquisition includes an on-site transfer station and an in-development transfer station in North Carolina, and represents Capital Waste's tenth add-on to expand disposal capacity in its core geography; a debt financing syndicate led by Comerica Bank supported the transaction.

GFL Environmental Acquires Superior Waste Industries from Red Dog Equity

GFL Environmental Inc. acquired Superior Waste Industries, LLC, a Shawnee, Oklahoma–based regional solid waste and recycling operator, from Red Dog Equity LLC in an all-cash transaction. The deal transfers ownership of Superior and its subsidiaries (including Central Disposal, Harley Hollan, Sue's Recycling and Sanitation, and SDS Roll-off Dumpsters) to GFL as part of the company's U.S. expansion and market consolidation strategy.
