Superior Plus Acquires Freeman Gas & Electric Co., Inc.

Superior Plus Corp., through a wholly‑owned subsidiary, agreed to acquire the assets of Freeman Gas & Electric Co., Inc. for approximately US$170 million to expand its U.S. propane distribution footprint in the Southeast. Freeman is a family‑owned retail propane distributor with ~23 branches, ~38 bulk plants and about 275 employees servicing residential and commercial customers across North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia.

Superior Plus Acquires Champagne's Energy

Superior Plus Corp. has entered into an asset agreement to acquire Champagne's Energy, an independent retail propane distributor serving Maine that delivers approximately 11 million gallons of propane and distillates annually. The tuck-in acquisition — Superior's second in 2020 — is expected to close in Q3 2020, will modestly increase U.S. propane distribution segment EBITDA, and follows a preferred share investment from Brookfield Asset Management that strengthened Superior's balance sheet.

Superior Plus Corp. Acquires Miller Propane and Highlands Propane

Superior Plus Corp., through a wholly-owned Canadian subsidiary, completed two add-on acquisitions: the equity interests of Miller Propane (Mont‑Tremblant, Quebec) and the assets of Highlands Propane (Fenelon Falls, Ontario). The transactions expand Superior's propane distribution footprint in Quebec and Ontario and will be integrated into its Energy Distribution platform to leverage digital solutions and operational scale.

Superior Plus Acquires Quarles Delivered Fuels Business for US$144M

Superior Plus Corp. completed the acquisition of the retail propane and refined fuels distribution assets of Quarles Petroleum Inc. (the Quarles Delivered Fuels Business) for US$144 million. The assets serve roughly 55,000 residential and commercial customers—primarily in Virginia—and include 29 bulk plants, one rail terminal, ~3 million gallons of storage, a 196-vehicle fleet and 188 employees; Superior expects approximately US$19 million in run-rate Adjusted EBITDA within 24 months.

Superior Plus Completes Acquisition of Kamps Propane and Kiva Energy

Superior Plus Corp. completed the acquisition of Kamps Propane (and related entities) and Kiva Energy for approximately US$240 million, funded from its existing credit facility. The deal adds a substantial retail propane distribution platform and wholesale capabilities across the U.S. West, and is expected to deliver approximately US$7 million of annual run-rate synergies within 24 months.
