MAI Capital Management announced the acquisition of Waypoint Wealth Counsel LLC, an Atlanta-based fee-only registered investment advisor managing about $490 million in AUM. The deal is intended to give MAI a foothold in Atlanta and expand wealth management capabilities and alternative investment access while keeping Waypoint’s local leadership in place.
