Spectris plc Acquires MicroStrain Sensing Systems Business

Spectris plc has signed a purchase agreement to acquire MicroStrain Sensing Systems Business for $37.6 million. MicroStrain, based in Williston, Vermont, reported unaudited revenue of $15.4 million for the year ended June 2022 and will be integrated into Spectris Dynamics to strengthen Spectris' sensor offering and North American presence; the deal is expected to close in the third quarter subject to regulatory approval.

Sherlock Biosciences Acquires Sense Biodetection

Sherlock Biosciences has acquired Sense Biodetection to accelerate commercialization of CRISPR-enabled, instrument-free molecular diagnostics by integrating Sense’s Veros rapid, instrument-free test platform, chemistry and manufacturing capabilities into Sherlock’s platform. Terms were not disclosed; Sense is headquartered in Oxford, United Kingdom with additional facilities in Cambridge (UK) and Milford, Massachusetts.

SD Biosensor and SJL Partners Acquire Meridian Bioscience for $1.53B

A consortium led by SD Biosensor and private equity firm SJL Partners agreed to acquire Meridian Bioscience in an all-cash transaction valued at approximately $1.53 billion ( $34.00 per share). The deal will take Meridian private and is intended to accelerate SD Biosensor's entry into the U.S. in-vitro diagnostics market while leveraging Meridian's U.S. distribution network and product portfolio.

R-Biopharm AG Acquires AusDiagnostics

German biotechnology company R-Biopharm AG has acquired Australian molecular diagnostics manufacturer AusDiagnostics. The purchase adds AusDiagnostics' multiplex MT-PCR platforms, extraction reagents and laboratory automation capabilities to R-Biopharm's clinical diagnostics portfolio, supporting capability expansion and internationalization into new clinical, veterinary and applied testing markets.

Hologic, Inc. Acquires Mobidiag Oy

bioMérieux Acquires Invisible Sentinel

The deal strengthens bioMérieux's food pathogen testing capabilities, complements its GENE-UP molecular food testing solution and expands its reach into new customer segments such as breweries and wineries.
