Asbury Carbons, now branded as Asbury Advanced Materials, signed a definitive agreement to acquire Graphit Kropfmühl GmbH (GK) from AMG, with regulatory approvals required. The acquisition subsequently closed, bringing GK’s graphite mining, processing, and technology operations into Asbury’s global carbon and engineered materials platform.

Artemis Capital Partners Acquires Millrock Technology

Artemis Capital Partners, a Boston-based private equity firm, has acquired Millrock Technology Inc., a Kingston, New York manufacturer of lyophilization (freeze-drying) instrumentation and process development tools for the pharmaceutical, biotech, and diagnostics markets. Under Artemis’ ownership Millrock will continue to operate independently from its Kingston facility while Artemis invests to scale the company’s technical capabilities and global reach.

Peak Rock Capital Affiliate Acquires Rochester Midland Corporation

An affiliate of Peak Rock Capital has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Rochester Midland Corporation, a 135-year-old specialty chemical supplier headquartered in Rochester, New York. Peak Rock will partner with the Calkins family and RMC management to accelerate growth, pursue complementary acquisitions, and expand the company’s production, geographic footprint, and service offerings.

Mill Rock Packaging Acquires Keystone Paper & Box Company

Mill Rock Packaging Partners LLC, a specialty packaging platform backed by Mill Rock Capital, has acquired Keystone Paper & Box Company, a custom folding carton manufacturer based in South Windsor, Connecticut. Keystone's management has made a significant investment in the platform and will remain in place; the deal expands Mill Rock Packaging's footprint to the Eastern U.S. and builds the platform's national specialty packaging capabilities. Terms were not disclosed.

Mill Rock Packaging Partners, the specialty packaging platform backed by Mill Rock Capital, has acquired All Packaging Company, a paperboard folding carton manufacturer based in Aurora, Colorado. The acquisition (terms undisclosed) expands Mill Rock Packaging's Western U.S. footprint and capabilities across design, printing and converting while All Packaging's president Kenneth Pepper and senior management retain ownership stakes and will continue to lead the business.

May River Capital Forms Advanced Material Processing and Acquires Kason Corporation

Chicago-based private equity firm May River Capital formed a new platform, Advanced Material Processing (AMP), and concurrently acquired Kason Corporation to be part of the platform alongside existing portfolio company Marion Process Solutions. Northstar Capital provided subordinated debt and an equity co-investment to finance the transaction. The deal aims to consolidate complementary material-processing equipment businesses to expand engineering capabilities and accelerate organic and acquisitive growth in hygienic process end markets.
