Chicago-based private equity firm Wind Point Partners has acquired A&R Logistics, a Louisville-headquartered provider of integrated dry bulk logistics for the chemical and plastics industries. Wind Point will partner with A&R management to expand the company’s domestic infrastructure, grow export capabilities in the Southeast ports, and pursue add-on acquisitions to increase scale and service scope.

A&R Logistics Acquires Blue Water Plastic Transport

A&R Logistics, a Wind Point Partners–backed dry bulk logistics operator, has acquired Blue Water Plastic Transport, a St. Clair, Michigan-based provider of specialty dry bulk transportation, logistics and warehousing for the plastics and chemical industries. The add-on expands A&R’s Midwest presence, increases its specialized tractor/trailer fleet and preserves BWP’s operations in St. Clair under A&R's ownership.

The add-on strengthens A&R's liquid chemical platform and expands its Gulf Coast geographic coverage while RJ's founder and president will remain involved in the combined business.

Novvia Group Acquires Auberst Inc.

Novvia Group, a Kelso-backed global rigid container and life sciences packaging distributor, has acquired Auberst Inc., a Brea, California-based distributor of plastic and metal rigid packaging solutions. The acquisition — which will be combined with Novvia subsidiary Rhino Container — strengthens Novvia's West Coast footprint; financial terms were not disclosed.

Harbor Logistics (NOVA Infrastructure) Acquires ATS Logistics

Harbor Logistics, a Charleston-based platform backed by NOVA Infrastructure, has acquired ATS Logistics, a leading drayage and warehousing provider at the Port of Charleston. The deal integrates ATS' asset-based fleet and warehouse (including the port's Centralized Examination Station) into Harbor Logistics to expand port-centric transportation and warehousing capabilities in the Charleston market.
