Sterling Pharma Solutions Acquires CiVentiChem US Facility in Cary, North Carolina

UK-based CDMO Sterling Pharma Solutions, a portfolio company of GHO Capital, has acquired the CiVentiChem US facility in Cary, North Carolina to establish a local presence for its North American clients and expand its chemistry development and kilo-scale cGMP capabilities. The acquisition supports Sterling’s strategy to build a global chemistry services business and follows GHO Capital’s majority investment in Sterling earlier this year.

Fagron Acquires University Compounding Pharmacy (UCP)

Fagron NV has completed the acquisition of University Compounding Pharmacy (UCP), a San Diego–based 503A compounding pharmacy focused on health and wellness, hormones and urology. The transaction has an enterprise value of approximately $41.5 million; UCP had annual revenues of around $25 million and will be integrated to strengthen Fagron's U.S. compounding platform alongside Anazao, with synergies expected over 18–24 months.

Fagron has completed the acquisition of University Compounding Pharmacy (UCP), a San Diego–based 503A compounding pharmacy focused on hormone and urology therapies. The transaction values UCP at approximately $41.5 million; UCP generates roughly $25 million of annual revenue. Fagron said the purchase supports its strategy to build a nationwide U.S. compounding platform (complementary to Anazao) and strengthens its presence in California.

Computer Design & Integration LLC (CDI), a PE-backed IT infrastructure and managed services provider, has acquired Plan B Technologies, Inc., an Annapolis-based IT solutions and professional services firm. Backed by One Equity Partners, the acquisition is an add-on to CDI's growth strategy to expand service capabilities (notably virtualization and cloud/backup solutions) and extend sales reach across the eastern U.S.; financial terms were not disclosed.

Columbia PSI Acquires Control Design & Manufacturing

Columbia PSI, LLC (a business unit of Columbia Machine, Inc.) acquired Control Design & Manufacturing, Inc., a Denver-area designer and manufacturer of bag palletizing, bag handling and box forming/filling equipment. The transaction, which closed April 1, 2022, brings CD&M's palletizing and controls capabilities into Columbia PSI's bagging and packaging product line while retaining CD&M employees in the Denver operation.

Jabil Acquires Pharmaceutics International (Pii)

Jabil has acquired Pharmaceutics International (Pii), a Hunt Valley, Maryland-based contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) that provides aseptic filling, lyophilization and oral solid dose manufacturing. The all-cash transaction represents an exit for a consortium led by Signet Healthcare Partners, Athyrium Capital Management, Hildred Capital and Pharmascience Inc., and brings Pii’s ~300+ employees and four-site campus into Jabil’s Pharmaceutical Solutions offering to expand its drug development and manufacturing capabilities.
