Nordic investor Impilo and German healthcare-focused investor SHS Capital acquired Lowenco A/S from its founder and owners. Lowenco, headquartered in Vamdrup, Denmark, manufactures modular ultra-low temperature (ULT) storage solutions for the biopharma and pharmaceutical industries; management remains in place and Michael Berg will be appointed chairman of the board.

SHS Capital and LPs Invest ~€10M in Develco Pharma

SHS Capital, together with its limited partners and other existing shareholders, is investing approximately €10 million in Develco Pharma to expand manufacturing capacity and accelerate product development in response to exceptionally strong demand. Develco, a specialty pharma developer and manufacturer of modified-release formulations headquartered in Pratteln (DACH region), has been backed by SHS since 2020 and reports an order book exceeding 12 months of revenue.

Tübingen-based SHS Gesellschaft für Beteiligungsmanagement mbH is making a minority growth investment from its SHS V fund in Swiss-German specialty drug company Develco Pharma. Develco, headquartered in Pratteln, Switzerland with ~125 employees and production in Schopfheim, Germany, develops and manufactures orally administered prolonged-release medicines and will use the investment to broaden its pipeline and expand capabilities.

German healthcare specialist investor SHS Capital, together with ING Corporate Investments and several co-investors, acquired a majority stake in CAM Bioceramics B.V., a Leiden-based contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) for orthobiologic calcium phosphate solutions. Existing owners rolled over a significant stake and management remains in place; the transaction aims to strengthen the business and accelerate investment in people, capabilities and customer partnerships to drive growth.

INVL Baltic Sea Growth Fund has fully exited its shareholding while the Lauritsen family has reinvested and CEO Martin Lauritsen will continue to lead the business as MidEuropa supports international growth and capability expansion. MBL employs approximately 1,700 people across Europe and Asia and holds over 100 registered patents.
