Harbour Group Combines Cattron and LOFA to Form Control Solutions Platform

Harbour Group merged the parent companies of Cattron Holdings Inc. and LOFA Industries, LLC to create a new platform company called Control Solutions, combining their operator, machine, and engine control product portfolios. The move consolidates engineering capacity and expands offerings in automation, telemetry, and IoT-enabled control systems for rail, industrial, and mobile equipment markets.

Harbour Group Acquires Cattron

Harbour Group, a privately held, operations-focused investment company based in St. Louis, acquired Cattron Holdings Inc., a Warren, Ohio-based manufacturer of wireless control solutions for rail and industrial markets. Terms were not disclosed; Cattron had been the Wireless Automation & Controls Solutions business of Laird Ltd. and Harbour Group said it will support Cattron's growth into new product categories and geographies.

Harbour Group Acquires SHF, Inc.

Harbour Group has acquired SHF, Inc., a Pasadena, Texas-based distributor and manufacturer of stainless adaptors, fluid power fittings, instrumentation fittings, and valves, in an asset transaction announced Feb. 6, 2020. Terms were not disclosed; SHF founder Michael Chapman will remain as president. Harbour Group said it will use its operational expertise to accelerate SHF's growth in current and new markets.

Loar Holdings Acquires Harper Engineering for $250 Million

Loar Holdings completed an all-cash acquisition of Harper Engineering Company for $250 million. Loar said it will combine its operational and engineering capabilities with Harper’s portfolio of aircraft interior latching and securing mechanisms to expand Harper’s aftermarket footprint and support growth from rising commercial aircraft build rates.

Fulton Asset Management Acquires AFCO Industries

Fulton Asset Management, a family-backed investment platform based in Chicago, has acquired AFCO Industries, Inc., a vertically integrated U.S. manufacturer of aluminum, fiberglass, vinyl, and composite building products and a provider of CNC metal fabrication and contract manufacturing services headquartered in Alexandria, Louisiana. AFCO's existing leadership will remain in place; Fulton said the deal expands its industrial portfolio and reflects a long-term commitment to U.S. manufacturing.

Borgman Capital Acquires Harlo Corporation

Borgman Capital, a Milwaukee-based private investment firm, has acquired Harlo Corporation, an 88-year-old manufacturer of rough terrain forklifts headquartered in Grandville, Michigan. The transaction transfers ownership from the Crooks family to Borgman Capital; Harlo will continue to operate under its name with existing leadership and 54 employees, and will gain resources to expand capacity and product development.
