The investment provides Weston Forest with strategic expertise and capital to accelerate growth while the existing executive team remains heavily invested.

Wood Technologies International Acquires Norwood Sawmills

Norwood will continue to operate from Barrie, Ontario and retain its brand, product names, dealer network and warranties while gaining access to WTI's broader capabilities, R&D and technical support.

OrePac Building Products Acquires Western Timber Products

OrePac Building Products, a family-owned wholesale supplier based in Wilsonville, Oregon, has agreed to acquire Western Timber Products, a specialty softwood lumber and custom millwork manufacturer headquartered in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. The deal, announced Feb. 26, 2024, is expected to close around early April 2024 and will keep Western Timber's owner Dan Seid involved to assist in the transition.

Heartwood Partners Invests in Royal Products

Management will remain in place while Heartwood plans to support the company’s expansion through investments in people, processes and strategic add-on acquisitions; Lincoln International and Carl Marks Advisors served as financial advisors.

Swire Shipping Acquires Westwood Shipping Lines

Swire Shipping has completed the acquisition of Westwood Shipping Lines from J-WeSco Ltd., expanding Swire’s liner network and vertically integrating its Pacific Northwest–Northeast Asia services. Westwood, headquartered in Puyallup, Washington, will continue operating its niche vessel services while benefiting from Swire’s broader container, network and project capabilities.

Huron Capital Merges Northwest Pallet and Prime Woodcraft

Huron Capital made an additional equity investment in its pallet platform, Northwest Pallet Holdings, and combined Northwest Pallet with Prime Woodcraft Inc. The merged company will be headquartered in Schaumburg, Illinois, with Jack Donnell serving as President and CEO and Prime founder Ansir Junaid remaining a board member and significant shareholder.
