Frontline Road Safety Acquires Hi-Lite Airfield Services from Mangrove Equity Partners

Frontline Road Safety (a platform backed by The Sterling Group) has acquired Hi-Lite Airfield Services, LLC from Mangrove Equity Partners. Hi-Lite, a North American provider of airfield pavement maintenance, rubber removal, pavement marking and friction testing services, will be integrated into Frontline to expand its airfield capabilities and scale under a larger platform.

Hi-Lite Airfield Services, a subsidiary of Frontline Road Safety (a platform backed by The Sterling Group), has acquired the airfield marking business of Axtell's, Inc., a Jermyn, Pennsylvania-based pavement marking and airfield maintenance firm. The acquisition will integrate Axtell's crews and leadership into Hi-Lite to expand Frontline's airfield pavement marking capabilities and geographic reach as an add-on to the Frontline platform.

Mangrove Equity Partners has completed a management-led carve-out investment in Hi-Lite Airfield Services, LLC, a Watertown, New York-based provider of airfield pavement maintenance and runway marking services. The transaction will allow Hi-Lite to operate independently from its former parent, focus on its core airfield maintenance business, and access Mangrove's operational and financing resources to support fleet and growth initiatives.

Frontline Road Safety Acquires The Aero-Mark Company

Frontline Road Safety, a portfolio company of The Sterling Group, has completed the acquisition of The Aero-Mark Company, a Streetsboro, Ohio-based pavement marking contractor with an additional location in Cincinnati. The deal is an add-on to Frontline’s platform (its twelfth acquisition since July 2020) and is intended to expand the platform’s Midwest footprint and service capabilities in road safety and infrastructure maintenance.

Bain Capital Acquires Frontline Road Safety from The Sterling Group

Bain Capital Private Equity has agreed to acquire Frontline Road Safety, the largest U.S. provider of pavement marking and roadway safety services, from The Sterling Group. Frontline, headquartered in Denver with over 50 locations and approximately 1,750 employees, will continue to be led by CEO Mitch Williams and the existing management team, which will remain significant investors; financial terms were not disclosed.
