Ontario Teachers' Acquires Majority Stake in Società Gasdotti Italia from Macquarie MIRA

Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan Board has agreed to acquire a 69.4% interest in Società Gasdotti Italia S.p.A (SGI) from Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets (MIRA) via Macquarie European Infrastructure Fund 4. SGI is Italy's largest independent gas transmission operator, and Ontario Teachers' says the investment aligns with its strategy to buy core regulated utility assets with predictable cash flows and to support the network's transition to renewable gases.

Italtrecce (IWG) Acquires Special Corde S.r.l.

Italtrecce S.r.l., an International Wire Group (IWG) company and portfolio company of Olympus Partners, has acquired Special Corde S.r.l., a specialty conductor and wire supplier based in Gioia Sannitica, Italy. The add-on acquisition expands IWG's capabilities and product offering for transformers, electric motors and other electrification applications to support grid modernization and broader electrification demand across Europe and North America.

Macquarie Asset Management-led consortium to acquire further 20% stake in National Gas

A consortium led by Macquarie Asset Management has agreed to acquire an additional 20% equity interest in National Gas from National Grid, taking the consortium's total ownership to 80%. The deal, on equivalent terms to the original January 2023 transaction, is subject to regulatory clearance and is expected to complete in the second half of 2023; the consortium also holds an option to acquire the remaining 20% between May and July 2024.

Equiter Infrastructure II and Amundi Private Equity Italia Acquire Deenova S.r.l.

Equiter Infrastructure II (managed by Ersel Asset Management SGR) and Amundi Private Equity Italia (APEI), in partnership with Deenova founder Sergio Giglio, have signed a definitive agreement to acquire Deenova S.r.l. from an affiliate of H.I.G. Capital. Deenova is an Italian provider of hospital automation and traceability systems for drugs and medical devices with operations across roughly 100 hospitals in Europe; the transaction remains subject to customary regulatory approvals.

Accenture Acquires IQT Group

Accenture has agreed to acquire IQT Group, an Italy-based provider of engineering managed services for large infrastructure and net-zero projects. The acquisition brings IQT's more than 450 consultants and engineers into Accenture's infrastructure and capital projects practice to strengthen capabilities for electricity, water and telecom infrastructure, energy efficiency and net-zero program delivery in Italy and Europe.

Cobepa Acquires Majority Stake in Itineris

Cobepa has signed an agreement to acquire a majority stake in Itineris, a Ghent-based provider of customer information systems and utility software. Existing institutional investors PMV, Gimv, Smartfin and SFPIM will exit, while founder and CEO Edgard Vermeersch remains the largest non-institutional shareholder; the investment is intended to accelerate growth, expand Itineris' global footprint, and strengthen its software capabilities for water and energy utilities.
