Macquarie Asset Management (via Macquarie Global Infrastructure Fund) and Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan Board closed the acquisition of a 31.6% stake in Puget Holdings from CPP Investments. The stake gives the investors ownership in Puget's primary operating subsidiary, Puget Sound Energy (PSE), a regulated electric and natural gas utility serving customers in Washington State; the deal follows regulatory approvals and reflects buyers' interest in core infrastructure and the clean-energy transition.

A consortium of KKR, Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan Board and PSP Investments completed an all-cash acquisition of Spark Infrastructure for approximately A$5.2 billion. The deal, which received all regulatory approvals, gives the investors ownership of Spark's stakes in SA Power Networks, Victoria Power Networks (Citipower and Powercor), a stake in TransGrid and the Bomen Solar Farm as they seek to support Australia’s transition to low-carbon electricity infrastructure.

Italgas Acquires 2i Rete Gas

Italgas has completed the acquisition of 2i Rete Gas, consolidating its position as Europe's largest gas distribution system operator and expanding its network and customer base. Ontario Teachers' Acquires Mitratech (TA Associates Sells Stake)

Hg will retain a minority interest; the transaction was completed May 18, 2021 at an enterprise value reported at $1.55 billion and is intended to support Mitratech's continued portfolio and capability expansion.

Ontario Teachers' Acquires Majority Stake in Sahyadri Hospitals from Everstone

Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan Board's Private Capital team has agreed to acquire a significant majority stake in Sahyadri Hospitals Group from Everstone Group. Sahyadri is a Pune-headquartered multi-specialty hospital chain with c. 8 hospitals and ~900 operating beds (2,000 clinicians and 2,600 support staff reported) and the deal is expected to close in Q4 2022; founders and management will retain minority stakes.

Ontario Teachers' Acquires Majority Stake in Sevana Bioenergy

Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan has agreed to acquire a majority stake in Sevana Bioenergy and will make a $250 million capital commitment to accelerate development of renewable natural gas (RNG) projects across North America. Sevana, an owner-operator of large-scale anaerobic digestion projects, has deployed over $350 million of projects under construction and operates digester facilities across agricultural regions including Oregon, Idaho and South Dakota.
