NovaSource Power Services, a portfolio company of Clairvest Group Inc., has merged with SunSystem Technology (SST); the combined business will operate under the NovaSource brand. The transaction brings together field technicians and operations to expand nationwide renewable O&M coverage (the combined group has ~550 field technicians) and positions Derek Chase (CEO of SST) to lead NovaSource's Distributed Generation O&M business.

TerraForm Power Acquires Sun Tribe Development LLC

On May 15, 2025, TerraForm Power, an affiliate of Brookfield Asset Management / Brookfield Renewable, acquired Sun Tribe Development LLC, buying the development business and its 4.1 GW pipeline and integrating the development team. The deal transfers the entirety of Sun Tribe Development's project pipeline and personnel to TerraForm Power, more than doubling TerraForm Power's development pipeline to over 6,000 MW while Sun Tribe's EPC and O&M businesses continue to operate independently.

Mechanical Technology (MTI) Acquires Soluna Computing

(MTI) agreed to acquire Soluna Computing, Inc., combining MTI's EcoChain assets with Soluna's renewable-energy-powered modular data center business to form Soluna Holdings. The deal creates a platform focused on ‘green’ batchable computing (cryptocurrency mining, scientific and AI workloads) with a development pipeline of ~350 MW and aims to scale renewable-powered data centers globally.

Solo Acquires SolarNexus

Sunworks, Inc. Acquires Solcius, LLC

(NASDAQ:SUNW) agreed to acquire privately held Solcius, LLC in an all-cash transaction valued at $51.8 million (cash-free, debt-free), combining Sunworks' commercial and utility capabilities with Solcius' residential installation platform. The deal creates a national solar provider with a presence in 12 states and pro forma 2020 revenue of approximately $131.5 million, with Sunworks expecting synergies and near-term profitability post-integration.

The AES Corporation Acquires Community Energy Solar, LLC
