Horsepower Automotive Acquires Flatline Van Company

Horsepower Automotive Group, a Huron Capital-backed aftermarket automotive platform, has acquired Flatline Van Company, a Portland-based maker of camper-van roof racks, ladders, bed systems and accessories. The Flatline founders will remain with the business and join Horsepower’s advisory and product teams as the company expands its adventure-van aftermarket product offering as an add-on to the Horsepower platform.

Lincoln Electric Holdings, Inc. has acquired Vanair Manufacturing, LLC, a Michigan City, Indiana-based maker of vehicle-mounted mobile power solutions including compressors, generators, welders, hydraulics and chargers. The deal (Vanair ~ $100M revenue) expands Lincoln Electric's product and channel capabilities into the service-truck market and will be reported in its Americas Welding segment.

Aramco, through its wholly owned subsidiary Aramco Asia Singapore Pte. Ltd., has completed the acquisition of a 10% equity stake in Horse Powertrain Limited based on an enterprise valuation of €7.4 billion. Renault Group and Geely (via Geely Holding and Geely Auto) each retain 45% stakes; the investment formalises a strategic partnership to advance powertrain technologies, synthetic fuels and lubricants and accelerate lower‑carbon mobility solutions.

Highline Aftermarket, a portfolio company of The Sterling Group, has acquired Camco Manufacturing’s Liquids division, adding manufacturing plants in Leominster, MA; Reidsville, NC; Elkhart, IN; and Albany, OR. The acquisition expands Highline’s blending and filling capacity and strengthens its position as a nationwide producer and distributor of windshield wash, RV antifreeze and diesel exhaust fluid for the automotive, RV and marine aftermarket.

Penske Logistics Acquires Black Horse Carriers, Inc.

Penske Logistics has agreed to acquire Chicago-based trucking company Black Horse Carriers, Inc.; financial terms were not disclosed. The acquisition, expected to close December 31, 2020, will expand Penske’s dedicated contract carriage capabilities and integrate Black Horse’s fleet and operations (Black Horse operates ~2,000 vehicles and employs more than 4,000 people).

Pritzker Private Capital (PPC) has completed acquisitions of Highline Aftermarket Holdings and Warren Distribution, combining a national distributor and a private-label lubricant manufacturer into a leading automotive aftermarket supplier. The combined business will operate 27 facilities across North America, offer over 22,000 SKUs, and be led by Highline CEO Darcy Curran with Warren founder Bob Schlott serving as a board advisor.
