A fund managed by Blue Owl Capital's Digital Infrastructure strategy has acquired South Reach Networks (operating as Intermetro Fiber), a Florida-based fiber and colocation provider. Blue Owl plans significant investment to expand SRN's 370-mile fiber network and edge colocation footprint across Florida to meet growing hyperscale and enterprise connectivity demand; Turning Rock Partners sold the business.

DC BLOX Acquires Southeastern Fiber Assets from Light Source Communications and Ascendant Capital

DC BLOX has acquired Southeastern dark fiber assets from Light Source Communications and Ascendant Capital (Ascendant Fiber Capital), including a long-haul route under development from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina to Atlanta, Georgia. The transaction brings Light Source co-founders Debra Freitas and Pete Empie to DC BLOX to lead fiber development, and DC BLOX said Post Road Group, Bain Capital and Ascendant Capital Partners are providing financial support to accelerate deployment across the Southeast.

ENTRUST Solutions Group Acquires FiberRise Communications

ENTRUST Solutions Group, backed by Kohlberg & Company, has acquired FiberRise Communications, a Huntsville, Alabama–based provider of utility broadband consulting, engineering and fiber network build/operate services. The acquisition expands ENTRUST's utility broadband and grid modernization capabilities and footprint, enabling support for electric cooperatives, municipalities and investor-owned utilities.

CBRE Investment Management Acquires Gateway Fiber from Crosstimbers Capital Group

A fund sponsored by CBRE Investment Management has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Gateway Fiber, a Wright City, Missouri-based fiber-to-the-home provider, from Crosstimbers Capital Group. CBRE IM said the acquisition will expand its private infrastructure portfolio and enable integration with its middle-mile portfolio company WANRack to accelerate broadband deployment in underserved communities; the deal is expected to close in February 2023 pending regulatory approvals.

GI Partners Acquires Rise Broadband
