Raven Industries (NASDAQ: RAVN) acquired Smart Ag Inc., a developer of autonomous farming solutions headquartered in Ames, Iowa, to bolster its Raven Autonomy strategic growth platform and integrate Smart Ag into its Applied Technology division. The deal expands Raven's autonomous and perception/path-planning capabilities for OEM partners and large-scale agricultural retailers and brings Smart Ag's retrofit kits, software platform and dealer network into Raven's precision-ag portfolio.

Epicor Acquires Smart Software

Financial terms were not disclosed; the deal is intended to accelerate Epicor’s delivery of AI-powered forecasting and inventory optimization capabilities for manufacturing, distribution, and retail customers.

John Deere Acquires GUSS Automation

John Deere Acquires Sentera to Integrate Aerial Field Scouting

The deal will integrate Sentera's high-resolution imagery and prescription-generation capabilities into the John Deere Operations Center to expand the company’s precision-ag technology and deliver more actionable data to farmers, agronomists and equipment partners.

AGCO Acquires Appareo Systems

AGCO has agreed to acquire Appareo Systems, a Fargo-based provider of software engineering, hardware development and electronic manufacturing, to strengthen AGCO's engineering and manufacturing capabilities and expand its software and hardware development capacity. The acquisition, announced December 21, 2021, is expected to close in January 2022, and AGCO intends to retain Appareo's team and operations in Fargo, North Dakota and Paris, France.
