AviAlliance Acquires AGS Airports from Macquarie and Ferrovial

AviAlliance has agreed to acquire AGS Airports from Macquarie Asset Management (via Macquarie European Infrastructure Fund 4) and Ferrovial for an enterprise value of approximately £1.53 billion. The transaction transfers ownership of the airports serving Aberdeen, Glasgow and Southampton, and is expected to reach financial close by Q1 2025 subject to customary conditions and regulatory approvals.

American Track Services Acquires Universal Rail Systems; Forms North American Rail Solutions

American Track Services (a portfolio company of DFW Capital Partners) has acquired Universal Rail Systems, Canada’s largest provider of rail infrastructure inspection, maintenance, repair and construction. The deal creates a new parent, North American Rail Solutions, combining ATS' U.S. footprint with URS' Canadian operations to create a continent-wide rail services platform; URS was sold by an investor group led by TorQuest Partners.

Corporación América Airports Acquires Remaining Stake in Corporación América Italia

Corporación América Airports S.A. acquired the remaining 25% interest in Corporación América Italia S.p.A. from the Investment Corporation of Dubai via a share-swap, increasing its interest in CAI to 100%. CAI holds a 62.28% interest in Toscana Aeroporti S.p.A., the operator of Pisa and Florence airports, and the deal increases CAAP's indirect economic interest in Toscana Aeroporti and strengthens its position in the Italian airport sector.

Macquarie Asset Management Acquires Stakes in Bristol and Birmingham Airports

Macquarie Asset Management (through Macquarie European Infrastructure Fund 7), with co-investor LGPS Central Limited (on behalf of West Midlands and Cheshire Pension Funds), has reached financial close to acquire a 55% stake in Bristol Airport and a 26.5% stake in Birmingham Airport. The stakes were purchased from Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan as part of Macquarie's broader UK airports portfolio expansion.

Core Specialty Insurance Holdings, Inc. has completed the acquisition of London Aviation Underwriters, Inc., integrating LAU as its 18th specialty business unit and creating a new Aviation & Aerospace Division. LAU employees became Core Specialty employees effective January 1, 2025; LAU produced $44 million in gross premiums written in 2024 and will continue to operate under the LAU brand while StarStone National Insurance Company remains the policy-issuing carrier.
