Wellspring Capital Management Acquires Rohrer Corporation

Wellspring Capital Management has closed the acquisition of Rohrer Corporation, a Wadsworth, Ohio–based retail packaging designer and manufacturer. Rohrer, founded in 1973 and a ShoreView portfolio company since 2009, will retain its CEO and management team and continue to operate from its Wadsworth headquarters and seven additional manufacturing facilities; financial terms were not disclosed. Wellspring said the acquisition extends its packaging sector strategy and positions Rohrer to pursue organic growth and further consolidation in the industry.

The add-on expands Rohrer's paperboard packaging and printed folding carton capabilities and is being completed by Rohrer while it is a portfolio company of Wellspring Capital Management.

Nelipak Acquires Merrill's Packaging

Nelipak Corporation has completed the acquisition of Merrill's Packaging, a custom thermoformed packaging specialist with production sites in Burlingame, California and Alajuela, Costa Rica. The deal expands Nelipak's healthcare packaging capabilities—adding custom thermoforming, ISO 13485-certified cleanroom capacity and complementary design, tooling and pouch/mounting-card capabilities.

GHK-Backed JohnsByrne Acquires Municipal Packaging

Kohlberg & Company Acquires Nelipak Healthcare Packaging

Kohlberg & Company, a Mount Kisco, New York-based private equity firm, has acquired Nelipak Healthcare Packaging, a Cranston, Rhode Island-based manufacturer of custom rigid packaging for medical devices and pharmaceutical drug delivery products, from Mason Wells. Kohlberg plans to invest in Nelipak to expand capabilities and pursue organic and M&A-driven growth, using Nelipak as a platform for further industry consolidation.

SupplyOne (Wellspring Portfolio) Acquires Riverside Paper Co., Inc.

SupplyOne, the largest independent packaging company and a portfolio company of Wellspring Capital Management, acquired Riverside Paper Co., Inc., a family-owned Florida-based manufacturer and distributor of packaging and shipping products. The deal expands SupplyOne’s manufacturing and distribution footprint in Florida (Miami/Tampa/Orlando); financial terms were not disclosed.
