ABB Acquires ASTI Mobile Robotics from Keensight Capital

ABB has agreed to acquire ASTI Mobile Robotics from Keensight Capital and ASTI founder Verónica Pascual Boé. ASTI, founded in 1982 and headquartered in Spain with more than 300 employees across Spain, France and Germany, is a leading manufacturer of autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) and related software; ABB will integrate ASTI’s AMR portfolio into its robotics and automation offering to expand its capabilities.

ATI, headquartered near Raleigh, North Carolina, supplies robotic end-of-arm tooling, force/torque sensors, and collision sensors to industrial and medical OEMs and will expand Novanta's capabilities in mission-critical robotic applications.

German industrial group STIHL, via its corporate venture arm STIHL Digital, has acquired a 23.8% minority stake in Danish robotics maker TinyMobileRobots, buying out a state-funded investment managed by Borean Innovation. The investment is intended to accelerate TinyMobileRobots' international growth and leverage STIHL's global dealer network to expand distribution across sports, construction and agriculture end markets.
