ABB Acquires ASTI Mobile Robotics from Keensight Capital

ABB has agreed to acquire ASTI Mobile Robotics from Keensight Capital and ASTI founder Verónica Pascual Boé. ASTI, founded in 1982 and headquartered in Spain with more than 300 employees across Spain, France and Germany, is a leading manufacturer of autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) and related software; ABB will integrate ASTI’s AMR portfolio into its robotics and automation offering to expand its capabilities.

Daimler Trucks Acquires Majority Stake in Torc Robotics

Daimler Trucks (via Daimler Trucks and Buses Holding Inc., a subsidiary of Daimler AG) agreed to acquire a majority stake in Torc Robotics to accelerate commercialization of SAE Level 4 automated trucks. Torc will remain a separate entity in Blacksburg, Virginia, continue developing its Asimov self-driving software and work closely with Daimler's R&D teams in Portland and globally.

LG Electronics Acquires Majority Stake in Bear Robotics

LG Electronics has exercised a call option to acquire an additional 30% of Bear Robotics, increasing its ownership to a controlling 51% stake after an initial $60 million investment in March 2024. The move brings Bear Robotics into LG's robotics fold to accelerate AI-driven commercial, home and industrial robot development and integrate LG's commercial robot business with Bear Robotics' platform and fleet-management capabilities.

ASTI Mobile Robotics Group Acquires InSystems Automation

Hyundai Motor Group Acquires Controlling Stake in Boston Dynamics from SoftBank

Hyundai Motor Group acquired an 80% controlling interest in Boston Dynamics from SoftBank, valuing the mobile-robotics company at about US$1.1 billion. The acquisition is intended to accelerate Hyundai's transformation into a smart mobility solutions provider by integrating Boston Dynamics' advanced robotics capabilities across manufacturing, logistics and automation applications.

Picea Acquires iRobot in Court-Supervised Transaction

Shenzhen PICEA Robotics Co., Ltd. and Santrum Hong Kong Co., Limited (collectively “Picea”) acquired 100% of iRobot Corporation's equity as part of a court‑supervised, pre‑packaged Chapter 11 process. iRobot emerges as a privately held, U.S.-headquartered consumer robotics company (Bedford, Massachusetts) and has established a separate U.S. subsidiary, iRobot Safe, to govern and protect U.S. consumer data.
