Daimler Trucks Acquires Majority Stake in Torc Robotics

Daimler Trucks (via Daimler Trucks and Buses Holding Inc., a subsidiary of Daimler AG) agreed to acquire a majority stake in Torc Robotics to accelerate commercialization of SAE Level 4 automated trucks. Torc will remain a separate entity in Blacksburg, Virginia, continue developing its Asimov self-driving software and work closely with Daimler's R&D teams in Portland and globally.

DSV has sold 100% of USA Truck to UTAC, LLC, a private Arkansas-based entity formed by current and former USA Truck leaders including CEO George Henry, former CFO Zachary King and former CEO James Reed. The deal returns the 42-year-old carrier to U.S.-based ownership; financial terms were not disclosed and DSV said the sale positions USA Truck for future growth under local management.
