Power2X, a clean energy company focused on industrial decarbonization, announced it has acquired Netherlands-based green hydrogen project developer HyCC. The acquisition is intended to scale delivery of HyCC’s hydrogen and “clean molecule” projects across key industrial hubs in the Netherlands and Germany as projects move from early-stage development to large-scale operations.

ZeroAvia has acquired HyPoint, a developer of high-temperature hydrogen fuel cell stacks, integrating HyPoint’s ~40 engineering staff and IP into ZeroAvia’s hydrogen powertrain business. The deal brings HyPoint’s HTPEM fuel cell technology into ZeroAvia’s R&D and production footprint to accelerate development of hydrogen-electric powertrains for fixed-wing and rotorcraft applications.

Chevron Acquires Magnum Development and Majority Stake in ACES Delta Hydrogen Project

Chevron U.S.A. Inc., through its Chevron New Energies division, has closed the acquisition of 100% of Magnum Development, LLC from Haddington Ventures, gaining a majority interest in ACES Delta, LLC — the developer of the Advanced Clean Energy Storage hydrogen production and salt-cavern storage project in Delta, Utah. The project will produce and store renewable hydrogen (first phase ~100 metric tons/day) to serve utility, transportation and industrial customers in the western United States and is expected to enter commercial-scale operations in mid-2025.

Equinor and SSE Thermal Acquire Triton Power from Energy Capital Partners

Equinor and SSE Thermal have completed the £341 million acquisition of Triton Power from Energy Capital Partners, forming a 50:50 joint venture to own Triton. The deal includes the 1.2 GW Saltend Power Station and positions the buyers to decarbonise flexible power generation — including plans to prepare Saltend to run on up to 30% hydrogen from 2027 and eventual conversion to hydrogen — while supporting Equinor's H2H Saltend hydrogen project.
