T‑Mobile and EQT formed a joint venture (backed by EQT Infrastructure VI) to acquire fiber‑to‑the‑home provider Lumos from EQT Infrastructure III. The JV will combine T‑Mobile's retail, brand and customer capabilities with EQT's infrastructure expertise to scale Lumos' fiber network and transition it to a wholesale model with T‑Mobile as the anchor tenant, with plans to reach ~3.5 million homes passed by 2028.

EQT Infrastructure announced plans to combine its portfolio companies IP-Only and GlobalConnect to create a leading Northern European fiber-based datacom and cloud-enabling infrastructure provider. The merger creates scale across Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Northern Germany — combining roughly 58,000 km of fiber, ~18,000 sqm of data center capacity, more than 1,500 employees and combined 2018 revenues of ~EUR 520 million to accelerate network rollout, innovation and cross-border services for B2B, B2C and public customers.

EQT and OMERS Acquire Deutsche Glasfaser

EQT Infrastructure IV and OMERS Infrastructure have agreed to acquire Deutsche Glasfaser from KKR Infrastructure and Reggeborgh and will combine it with EQT's portfolio company inexio. The combined group will accelerate FTTH roll-out across rural Germany with a planned investment of over EUR 7 billion to expand gigabit-capable fiber infrastructure.

CK Hutchison (Wind Tre's current owner) will retain a 40% stake; EQT plans to invest in the network, expand services (including fixed wireless access, IoT and private networks) and pursue sustainability and growth opportunities.
