May River Capital Forms Advanced Material Processing and Acquires Kason Corporation

Chicago-based private equity firm May River Capital formed a new platform, Advanced Material Processing (AMP), and concurrently acquired Kason Corporation to be part of the platform alongside existing portfolio company Marion Process Solutions. Northstar Capital provided subordinated debt and an equity co-investment to finance the transaction. The deal aims to consolidate complementary material-processing equipment businesses to expand engineering capabilities and accelerate organic and acquisitive growth in hygienic process end markets.

May River Capital Acquires PaperTech

May River Capital, a Chicago-based private equity firm, has acquired PaperTech, a Findlay, Ohio manufacturer of sustainable, dual-ovenable paperboard trays and bowls serving the frozen food and foodservice markets. PaperTech has nearly 200 employees and produces over 500 million trays annually; founder Larry Epstein will retire (remaining a shareholder) while co-founder Al Fotheringham will remain as a shareholder and continue as Chief Development Officer.

Industrial Flow Solutions (May River Capital) Merges Stancor and BJM Pumps

May River Capital, together with Longview Asset Management and Knox Capital Holdings, completed a merger combining Stancor, L.P. and BJM Pumps LLC into Industrial Flow Solutions (IFS), a May River portfolio company. The combined business will operate under IFS to provide integrated pump design, manufacturing, sales and service for industrial, municipal and construction end markets.
