Vestum Acquires Lakers from Summa Equity for ~SEK 2bn

Vestum AB (publ) has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Lakers Group Holding AS from Summa Equity for approximately SEK 2 billion, with around SEK 250 million of the consideration to be reinvested into Vestum. Lakers is a leading independent aftermarket service provider of water and wastewater pumps headquartered in Oslo, Norway, with more than 400 employees and 25 entities across the Nordics, Germany and the UK; Summa Equity says the business expanded rapidly under its ownership.

Lakers Group AB (publ) has signed a share purchase agreement to acquire Norsk Pumpeservice AS, a Norwegian aftermarket service and consumables provider for water and foundation drilling markets. The acquisition (expected to close in August) strengthens Lakers’ Norwegian platform and expands its product and service offering; the transaction was partly financed via a NOK 200 million tap of Lakers’ existing senior secured sustainability-linked bond.

Stockholm-based impact investor Summa Equity has acquired a majority stake in Netherlands-headquartered Bollegraaf Group, a global provider of turnkey recycling and waste‑sorting solutions. Summa is investing from its EUR 2.3 billion Fund III to accelerate Bollegraaf’s growth, expand innovation in mechanical recycling technologies and drive the transition to a circular economy; the seller is Capital A Investment Partners and the deal is expected to close following regulatory approvals in October 2024.

Summa Equity (via NG Group) Acquires Fortum Recycling & Waste from Fortum

Summa Equity, through its portfolio company NG Group, has completed the acquisition of Fortum Recycling & Waste from Fortum Corporation for approximately EUR 800 million on a debt- and cash-free basis. The deal combines Fortum's recycling and waste business (≈900 employees) with NG Group to create a Nordic circular-economy leader with combined revenues of about EUR 1.2 billion, ~3,500 employees and expanded hazardous-waste and recycling capabilities.

The sellers — Juha Granqvist, Janne Kosomaa and Baltic Workboats AS — become shareholders in Summa Defence; Uudenkaupungin Työvene reported ~EUR 17 million revenue in 2023 and employs about 70 people.
