ScandiNova Systems AB Acquires Microwave Amps

Uppsala-based ScandiNova Systems AB has acquired Bristol-based Microwave Amps to expand its RF amplifier capabilities and broaden its product portfolio for medtech, industrial, scientific and defense customers. The acquisition will integrate Microwave Amps' solid-state RF amplifiers into ScandiNova's RF systems and increases the combined group's employee base to over 200.

Debt financing for the transaction was led by Barings and co-led by PennantPark and SMBC; prior majority shareholders (affiliates of GaAs Labs LLC), founders and management will remain material shareholders.
