Waverly Advisors, a Birmingham-based registered investment adviser, has acquired River Capital Advisors, L.C., an investment advisory business based in Jacksonville, Florida. The deal — Waverly's 15th since receiving equity backing from Wealth Partners Capital Group and HGGC’s Aspire Holdings platform — closed July 19, 2024, and boosts Waverly's AUM to approximately $12.5 billion; financial terms were not disclosed.

The entire NBW team will join Waverly (except Ben Niedermeyer, who is retiring); the transaction closed on March 28, 2025 and is intended to bolster Waverly's equity strategy management capabilities.

The deal adds three Ohio offices and approximately $1.0 billion in AUM, brings a team of 24 professionals to Waverly, and closed on October 18, 2024, increasing Waverly's AUM to about $14.4 billion.

Waverly Advisors Acquires Pacific Portfolio

Waverly Advisors has acquired Pacific Portfolio Consulting, LLC and Pacific Portfolio Trust Company to expand into the Pacific Northwest and add trust capabilities. The deal brings roughly $5 billion of AUM to Waverly, increasing the firm's total AUM to about $25.1 billion; financial terms were not disclosed and the transactions closed in late September and October 2025.
