The Sterling Group, a middle-market private equity firm, has completed the acquisition of L&S Mechanical, a tri‑trade provider of plumbing, HVAC and electrical installation services headquartered in Richardson, Texas. Sterling said it will partner with L&S management to expand the company’s tri‑trade turnkey model across Texas and into other states and accelerate growth.

The deal — announced effective February 23, 2024 — is Quality's first add-on since Caymus Equity's majority investment and doubles the platform's scale while expanding its geographic footprint and capabilities across the Gulf Coast and Southeast.

Lee Electrical Construction, headquartered in Aberdeen, North Carolina, provides power line construction, transmission/substation and storm restoration services to investor-owned utilities, electric cooperatives, municipalities, and industrial customers across the Southeastern and Mid-Atlantic United States; Founders Advisors advised Lee on the sale.

Strada Services Acquires L&M Electric, Inc.

Strada Services, a provider of residential electric, air conditioning, security and smart‑home services, has acquired L&M Electric, Inc., a residential electrical installation company founded in 2009. The deal expands Strada's footprint across the U.S. Southeast (adding Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, Tennessee and North Carolina) and enables L&M to broaden its service offering to include A/C, security and smart‑home services; financial terms were not disclosed.

Comfort Systems USA Acquires Atlantic Electric, LLC

Comfort Systems USA, Inc. (NYSE: FIX) has acquired Atlantic Electric, LLC, a Charleston, South Carolina–based electrical contractor with operations in South Carolina and western North Carolina. Atlantic brings approximately $50 million of annualized revenue and specialized capabilities including airport runway lighting and industrial electrical services, expanding Comfort Systems USA's presence and capabilities in the Carolinas and the Southeast.

QE Solar Acquires S3 Power, Inc.

QE Solar LLC has acquired S3 Power, Inc., a Walpole, Massachusetts-based specialist in medium- and high-voltage commissioning, testing, construction and maintenance for substations and renewable energy projects. The deal strengthens QE Solar's in-house MV/HV and substation servicing capabilities for utility-scale and distributed generation solar and BESS projects, and S3 owner James Swansey will join QE as Vice President, Medium Voltage and Protection & Controls.
