Tokens.com closed the purchase of a 50% stake in Metaverse Group by issuing two million common shares at CAD$0.84 (valuation CAD$1.68M), receiving 25 million Metaverse Group shares for the ownership position. Metaverse Group owns an extensive portfolio of virtual NFT real estate across Decentraland, The Sandbox, Somnium Space, Cryptovoxels and Upland and provides virtual property development, property management and metaverse marketing/advertising services.

NextPlay Technologies Acquires Token IQ Crypto Technology Assets

NextPlay Technologies (Nasdaq: NXTP) entered into a definitive agreement to acquire 100% of the assets of Token IQ to integrate Token IQ's smart compliant token technology into NextPlay's fintech and ICO portal offerings, including its NextBank business. The acquisition is intended to enhance NextPlay's digital-asset management, KYC/AML capabilities and support integration across its gaming, fintech and travel ecosystem.

Ontario Teachers' Acquires Mitratech (TA Associates Sells Stake)

Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan Board agreed to acquire a majority stake in Mitratech, a provider of legal, risk and compliance software, with TA Associates selling its funds' ownership interest. Hg will retain a minority interest; the transaction was completed May 18, 2021 at an enterprise value reported at $1.55 billion and is intended to support Mitratech's continued portfolio and capability expansion.

Playtika Acquires SuperPlay for $700 Million

Playtika Holding Corp. has acquired Tel Aviv-based mobile gaming developer SuperPlay for $700 million, with up to $1.25 billion of additional contingent consideration tied to future financial targets. SuperPlay — maker of Dice Dreams and Domino Dreams — will operate as its own studio within Playtika, adding development talent and proven mobile titles to Playtika's portfolio.

TransPerfect Acquires Technicolor Games (Technicolor Group Division)

Playmaker Capital Acquires Two-Up Agency

Playmaker Capital Inc. acquired Two-Up Agency Ltd., a London- and Krakow-based digital product agency serving the online gaming and sports betting industries. The acquisition (100% of Two-Up) expands Playmaker's technology capabilities and integrates Two-Up's products into Playmaker Bench; consideration was up to US$5.75 million including cash, shares and earn-outs.
