Peak Nanosystems Acquires PolymerPlus

Peak Nanosystems has acquired Cleveland-based PolymerPlus, a polymer technology development company specializing in nanolayered polymer films for optics and high-temperature film capacitors; terms were not disclosed. A $25 million investment from Squadron Capital funded the acquisition, which includes exclusive technology licenses from Case Western Reserve University and brings PolymerPlus co-founder Michael Ponting into Peak as Chief Science Officer to support expanded manufacturing and product launches.

The investors and federal/state CHIPS incentives will support a roughly $525 million investment to double wafer capacity, add compound semiconductor, sensor and power semiconductor capabilities, and create 160+ jobs in Bloomington, Minnesota.
