Semtech Acquires HieFo Corporation to Expand Data Center Optoelectronics Portfolio

Semtech Corporation acquired HieFo Corporation, a California-based manufacturer of high-efficiency indium phosphide (InP) optoelectronic devices used in optical transceivers for data center connectivity. The acquisition strengthens Semtech’s semiconductor chipset portfolio and enables tighter integration of HieFo’s lasers and gain chips with Semtech’s transimpedance amplifiers and laser driver solutions to support next-generation 1.6T and 3.2T data center architectures.
