Superior Energy Services Acquires Quail Tools from Nabors for $600M

Nabors Industries has sold its Quail Tools subsidiary to Superior Energy Services in a transaction with net consideration reported at $600 million (comprised of $375 million cash and a $250 million seller note) plus net working capital adjustments. The deal closed on Aug. 20, 2025; Nabors said the divestiture will reduce net debt by more than 25% and Superior expects to expand its rental tubular and pressure-control capabilities and realize synergies.

Select Energy Services Acquires Complete Energy Services from Superior Energy Services

Select Energy Services (NYSE: WTTR) acquired substantially all water-related assets and ongoing operations of Complete Energy Services, an operating subsidiary of Superior Energy Services, in exchange for 3.6 million shares of Class A common stock and $14.2 million in cash (subject to adjustments). The deal adds more than 300,000 barrels per day of permitted disposal capacity and brings over 700 field personnel to Select, expanding its footprint across the Permian, Mid-Continent, Rockies, Powder River Basin and the Marcellus/Utica regions.

AMETEK Acquires Abaco Systems from Veritas Capital for $1.35B

AMETEK, Inc. has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Abaco Systems, Inc. from Veritas Capital in an all-cash transaction valued at $1.35 billion. Abaco, headquartered in Huntsville, Alabama, is a provider of rugged embedded computing systems for aerospace, defense and specialized industrial markets with approximately $325 million in annual sales; the acquisition will fold Abaco into AMETEK's Electronic Instruments Group and is expected to close mid-2021 subject to customary approvals.

Baker Hughes Acquires AccessESP

Baker Hughes has agreed to acquire AccessESP, a Houston-based provider of the GoRigless ESP deployment system, to integrate the company's alternative electrical submersible pump (ESP) deployment technology into Baker Hughes' Oilfield Services segment. AccessESP — with approximately 55 employees and facilities in North America and the Middle East — will bring proprietary IP, personnel and commercial agreements to Baker Hughes to reduce costs and downtime for oilfield operators.
