MDS Acquires Cobian Insurance Brokers

MDS, part of The Ardonagh Group, has acquired Cobian Insurance Brokers, a Madrid-based commercial insurance broker founded in 2018 that specialises in industrial risks, energy, construction and financial lines. Pablo Cobián will remain with the business and the acquisition is intended to strengthen MDS’s Iberian platform and Spanish presence (subject to regulatory approvals).

The Baldwin Group Completes Acquisition of Hippo’s Homebuilder Distribution Network

The Baldwin Group’s indirect subsidiary, Westwood Insurance Agency LLC, completed its previously announced acquisition of all outstanding equity interests in the entities comprising Hippo Holdings’ homebuilder distribution network. The network is expected to expand Westwood’s embedded home insurance offering to major homebuilders, while The Baldwin Group’s managing general agent (MSI) also entered agreements with Hippo affiliates to provide additional proprietary capacity for homebuilder programs.

Silver Bay Seafoods Acquires Icicle's 50% Stake in OBI Seafoods

Silver Bay Seafoods has purchased Icicle Seafoods' (a Cooke subsidiary) 50% ownership stake in OBI Seafoods, partnering with the Bristol Bay Economic Development Corporation (BBEDC), which will retain its 50% share. Silver Bay will manage all OBI facilities and operations across multiple Alaskan plants and a Washington warehouse, with the companies citing the move as a step to stabilize regional processing capacity and support local fishermen and communities.

BRP Group / Millennial Specialty Insurance Acquires Arcana Insurance Services

Millennial Specialty Insurance, an indirect subsidiary of BRP Group, acquired substantially all of the assets of Arcana Insurance Services, a Dallas-based national insurance agency and program administrator focused on real estate investors and property management. The acquisition adds approximately $3.6 million of annual revenue and brings single-family rental program capabilities to BRP Group's MGA platform to support further product and capability expansion.

Five Arrows Capital Partners and BPOC Acquire basys and Merge It with ISSI

Five Arrows Capital Partners (FACP) and BPOC completed the acquisition of basys from WindRose Health Investors and merged basys with their portfolio company Innovative Software Solutions, Inc. (ISSI) to form a leading multiemployer benefits administration solutions provider. Harbour Benefit Holdings retained an investment in the combined business; terms were not disclosed.

CBRE Group Acquires Buildingi

CBRE Group has acquired Buildingi, a provider of occupancy planning, CAD and BIM services, to strengthen CBRE's occupancy management and workplace technology capabilities. Buildingi will integrate into CBRE's Occupancy Management team and bring a shared service center in Costa Rica to expand around-the-clock planning and technical drawing services.
