Bain Capital Acquires Valeo Foods from CapVest

Bain Capital Private Equity has agreed to acquire Valeo Foods Group from funds managed by CapVest. Valeo is a pan‑European ambient food company headquartered in Dublin with a portfolio including Jacobs, Kettle and Rowse, generating roughly €1.1 billion in annual net sales and employing over 4,000 people; Bain said it will seek to accelerate growth organically and via acquisitions. The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and the financial terms were not disclosed.

JBS S.A. has agreed to acquire Vivera Foodgroup, one of Europe’s largest plant-based protein producers, for an enterprise value of €341 million. The deal includes Vivera’s three manufacturing sites and R&D center in the Netherlands and will position JBS to expand its global plant-based product platform while keeping Vivera as a standalone unit under its current management.

Rockshield Capital Corp. completed acquisitions of Belle Pulses Ltd. and Sapientia (Sapientia Technology LLC together with Innovative Prairie Snack Foods Ltd./Healthy Table Superfoods), creating a vertically integrated agribusiness and plant-based foods division. The transactions were financed with a $33.5 million revolving debt facility and a mix of cash and Rockshield shares; Rockshield forecasts combined 2021 revenue of $60 million for the acquired businesses. Novel Agri‑Technologies sourced the deals and will provide managerial/advisory support to the acquired companies.
