Venerable Holdings Agrees to Reinsure Variable Annuity Business from Corebridge and Acquire SunAmerica Asset Management

Venerable Holdings has entered into a definitive agreement with Corebridge Financial to reinsure approximately $51 billion of variable annuity business from American General Life Insurance Company and US Life Insurance Company in New York, and to commence variable annuity new-business flow reinsurance from American General Life Insurance Company at close. The transaction also includes Venerable’s acquisition of Corebridge’s investment adviser SunAmerica Asset Management, with both the reinsurance blocks and the adviser acquisition expected to close in 2025.
