The acquisition brings Herbs' liquid tincture and soft-gel product portfolio and DTC/Amazon channels into Rosewood’s health & wellness investment focus to support product innovation and market expansion.

Chicago-based private equity firm Frontenac has acquired Monterey Bay Spice Company (HerbCo), a Watsonville, California-based processor and distributor of botanicals, herbs, teas, essential oils, seasonings and spices, from its founder. Frontenac said it will invest in strategic growth initiatives, add complementary capabilities and work with food industry veteran Bob Aiken (appointed Executive Chairman) to expand Monterey Bay's market penetration across nutraceutical, food & beverage, and health & beauty end markets.

MedX Holdings Inc. (OTC: MEDH) has acquired Craft Herbs LLC, a Texas limited liability company licensed to cultivate and process hemp in South Texas. Craft Herbs operates three facilities (San Antonio lab/kitchen, a 5-acre farm in New Braunfels, and an 86-acre lease near Laredo) and produces hemp products including fiber, feed, biomass and CBD; MEDH says the deal advances its vertical integration and capacity for hemp and cannabis products.
