Arcline Investment Management signed a definitive agreement to acquire Fairbanks Morse from EnPro Industries for $450 million. Fairbanks Morse is a long-established U.S. manufacturer of heavy-duty, medium-speed reciprocating engines serving naval, coast guard and power-generation customers; Arcline said it will invest to grow the business and its aftermarket services.

Fairbanks Morse Defense, a portfolio company of Arcline Investment Management, has acquired Vestdavit, a Bergen-based supplier of davits and advanced boat-handling systems, from its four owners for an undisclosed amount. The deal expands FMD's marine handling and OEM capabilities and adds Vestdavit's manufacturing site in Poland plus service centers in the Netherlands and Seattle to FMD's global footprint.

The acquisition expands FMD’s naval propulsion, foundry and handling capabilities to better serve U.S. and allied navies and preserves critical manufacturing capacity for the U.S. Navy supply chain.

The deal adds desalination, reverse osmosis and heat-recovery evaporator capabilities to FMD’s turnkey onboard solutions offering to the U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard and other marine customers.
