The acquisition adds U.S. manufacturing, analytical and R&D capabilities to Aceto’s global specialty-chemicals sourcing and distribution platform and supports expansion of IsleChem’s facility and workforce.

Novvia Group (Kelso-backed) Acquires MegaChem Inc.

Novvia Group, a Kelso & Company-backed national rigid container and life sciences packaging distributor, has acquired MegaChem, Inc., a High Point, North Carolina supplier of pails, drums and other rigid packaging products. Financial terms were not disclosed; MegaChem owner Richard Lewis will remain with the business to support operations and growth as part of the Novvia platform, expanding Novvia's industrial packaging presence in the Southeastern U.S.

Rochester Midland Corporation Acquires OCS Chemical Engineering

The acquisition expands Rochester Midland's technical capabilities and customer footprint across the Northeast, adding OCS's on-site service, chemical analysis and monitoring capabilities to its route-based specialty chemical and water treatment platform.

Chemtrade Acquires Polytec, Inc.

Chemtrade Logistics Income Fund completed the acquisition of Polytec, Inc., a southeastern U.S. turnkey water treatment solutions provider, for US$150 million. The deal expands Chemtrade's water-treatment chemicals platform by adding Polytec's service capabilities, products and end-market access (municipal and food-processing) to support cross-selling and Vision 2030 growth targets.

Berkshire Hathaway Acquires OxyChem from Occidental

Berkshire Hathaway has completed the acquisition of OxyChem from Occidental for $9.7 billion, subject to customary post-closing purchase price adjustments. OxyChem, headquartered in Dallas, Texas, is a major U.S. chemical manufacturer (PVC, chlor-alkali, chlorinated organics, calcium chloride) with operations across the U.S., Canada and Latin America and will remain led by CEO Wade Alleman.

OpenGate Capital Acquires Chemsolv Inc.

OpenGate Capital, a global private equity firm, has acquired Chemsolv Inc., a regional distributor of commodity and specialty chemicals headquartered in Roanoke, Virginia. The Austin family sold the business but retain an ownership stake and management role, and OpenGate said it will work with management to grow the company's distribution, blending, packaging, and logistics capabilities.
