Zijin Mining Group to Acquire Controlling Stake in Chifeng Jilong Gold Mining (Zijin Gold)

Zijin Mining Group announced that its wholly owned subsidiary Zijin Gold will acquire a controlling stake in Chifeng Jilong Gold Mining Co., Ltd. for about RMB18.258 billion (approximately $2.6 billion) via a combination of A-share purchases and a subscription of newly issued H shares. The deal will give Zijin Mining’s subsidiaries control and result in Chifeng Gold’s financial results being consolidated, subject to regulatory and shareholder approvals.

Gerald Group says it has been awarded 100% of Soremi Investments Ltd (SIL) and holds an exclusive first right of refusal for 100% of production from Soremi SA, the operator of the Soremi mine in the Republic of the Congo. The group warned that two unauthorised tenders issued by Soremi SA on 6 June 2025 for copper cathodes and zinc ingots are illegal, and said it will pursue remedies to prevent any unauthorised sales while enforcing multiple court orders from the BVI and Hong Kong recognizing Gerald Group's control.
