The Sterling Group Acquires Pavement Preservation Group, Inc. and Vance Brothers to Form Nationwide PPG Platform

The Sterling Group has acquired Arizona-headquartered Pavement Preservation Group, Inc. (PPGI) and Kansas City-based Vance Brothers, LLC to create Pavement Preservation Group (PPG), a new national platform focused on pavement preservation and asphalt maintenance. Darin Matson, a long-time pavement sector executive and former CEO of Rogers Group, was named CEO to lead the platform as Sterling pursues a buy-and-build expansion across the central and southwestern United States.

Heartland Paving Partners Acquires Garden State Pavement Solutions

Heartland Paving Partners, a platform company backed by Soundcore Capital Partners, has acquired Garden State Pavement Solutions, a full-service asphalt and concrete pavement provider serving New Jersey and parts of eastern Pennsylvania. The deal expands Heartland's geographic footprint into New Jersey and will keep Garden State leadership in place while integrating the company into Heartland's buy-and-build strategy.

Pavement Partners and Brothers National Merge to Form Pave America

The combined company will be primarily controlled by Shoreline Equity Partners and Trivest Partners, with Lincoln Road Global Management retaining a minority stake and board representation; Tom York will serve as CEO and Paul Garner as President.

Vance Brothers (Pavement Preservation Group) Acquires Circle C Paving

Vance Brothers, a division of Pavement Preservation Group (PPG) — a portfolio company of The Sterling Group — has completed the acquisition of Circle C Paving and Construction, LLC and Circle C Transport, LLC (collectively "Circle C"). Headquartered in Goddard, Kansas, Circle C is a regional provider of pavement preservation (primarily chip and scrub sealing) serving public, commercial and residential customers in Kansas and northern Oklahoma; the business will be integrated into Vance/PPG to expand the platform’s regional presence and capabilities.

IPS Group Acquires Populus Technologies

IPS Group, a San Diego-based provider of smart parking and curb management technologies, has acquired Populus Technologies, a San Francisco-based provider of mobility data, curb management and parking payments software. The acquisition will integrate Populus' mobility and curb-data platform with IPS's parking, payment and enforcement systems to expand IPS's smart mobility capabilities for municipalities, universities, transportation agencies and private operators.

Soundcore Capital Partners' ACI Holdings Acquires Asphalt Solutions (Indianapolis)

Soundcore Capital Partners, through its commercial paving platform ACI Holdings Group, acquired Asphalt Solutions, Inc., a provider of asphalt and concrete maintenance and repair services based in Indianapolis. The deal is the third add-on to Soundcore's ACI platform and is intended to expand ACI's commercial paving footprint in the Midwest and accelerate organic and acquisitive growth.
