Smart Communications Acquires Assentis Technologies

Smart Communications, a PE-backed provider of a customer conversations management platform, has acquired Assentis Technologies, a Swiss customer communications management (CCM) software provider focused on financial services. The acquisition expands Smart Communications' capabilities and presence in Continental Europe and enables Assentis customers to access Smart's multi-tenant SaaS platform.

Tata Communications has acquired a 51% majority stake in Commotion Inc., an AI-native enterprise SaaS platform that provides omnichannel CX orchestration, voice AI and autonomous digital agents. The deal (cash-only, via a stock purchase agreement) will integrate Commotion’s orchestration engine into Tata Communications’ Kaleyra Customer Interaction Suite to accelerate AI-driven capabilities across its Digital Fabric offerings.

Pendo Acquires Zelta AI to Accelerate AI-Powered Customer Intelligence

Pendo, the product experience platform, has acquired New York City–based startup Zelta AI and will integrate the team and technology into its Pendo Listen product to provide AI-driven insights from customer feedback across 150+ sources. The deal strengthens Pendo's AI capabilities for product discovery and feedback analysis, and the Zelta team will help establish an AI center of excellence in Pendo's New York office.

Sinch AB Acquires Inteliquent for U.S. Voice Leadership

Sinch AB agreed to acquire Inteliquent, the largest independent U.S. voice communications provider, for $1.14 billion in cash to broaden its CPaaS offering and establish leadership in U.S. voice. The acquisition gives Sinch Inteliquent's carrier-grade network, extensive phone-number inventory and voice APIs; closing is subject to customary regulatory approvals including CFIUS and FCC and was expected in H2 2021.
